Digital tachograph training for drivers
Truck UK now offers twice monthly digital tachograph training courses for all drivers' at our training unit in Langtoft, near Market Deeping, South Lincolnshire.
The courses held in the first four months of the year were all fully booked and delegate places are now being reserved for the next morning course, taking place on Saturday 17th May, beginning at 9.30am - Telephone 01778 349245 to book your places.
The second course to be presented in May is taking place on the evening of Wednesday 21st May and is already fully booked.
The next two courses will be held on Saturday 14th June (9.30am start) and Wednesday 18th June (6.30pm start) - Telephone 01778 349245 to book your places.
The fee for attending is just £45.00 + VAT. Delegates will be given all the information they need to confidently operate any of the three types of digital tachograph vehicle unit. Delegates also have plenty of opportunity to ask as many questions as they like.
Everyone goes away with a copy of the 20 page Truck UK 'Drivers' Guide to the Digital Tachograph' and an in-cab 'EC Drivers' Hours/Speed Limits' reminder sheet, as well as two certificates of completion and attendance - one for the driver/delegate and one to be given to their employer and placed in the drivers' company training file.

These two hour training sessions have been designed to be of use to both drivers' who are already using a digital tachograph fitted vehicle, as well as those who have not yet used a vehicle fitted with the new equipment, or even applied for a driver card.
What is covered?
- Why the change from analogue to digital recording equipment?
- When and how to apply for a driver card.
- The basics of the vehicle unit - Siemens, Stoneridge and Actia.
- The do's and dont's of using the digital tachograph, including manual data input.
- When to printout and why. What to do with the printouts.
- Downloading the data from the driver card - whose responsibility is it?
- General digital tachograph maintenance - including replacing the print roll, manual inputs and changing the clock.
- A brief update on the the EC Drivers' Hours.
- Any questions?
There are electronic simulators available to delegates on site to enable delegates them to 'try out' both Stoneridge and Siemens digital tachograph vehicle units, plus demonstration DVD's covering the correct operation of the Actia VU - who else offers so much for so little? A vehicle fitted with a Stoneridge VU is also on site.
