The Freight Best Practice Website
The Freight Best Practice website is funded by the Department for Transport (DfT) and managed by Faber Maunsell Limited to promote operational efficiency within freight operations in England.

The site offers essential information for the freight industry covering topics such as saving fuel, developing skills, equipment and systems, operational efficiency and performance management.

   The Online Highway Code

Essential reading for anyone who uses the road network, or even walks near it!  In September 2007 the Highway Code was revised for the first time in 8 years. Be honest, when was the last time you actually opened a copy!

  Health & Safety Executive website
Health & Safety law applies to employees; the self-employed; work experience; apprentices; volunteers; mobile workers and homeworkers. In fact if you are breathing the Health & Safety Executive will be keen to see if you are carrying out risk assessments and adhering to their innumerable procedurces and practices. If it moves or breathes HSE will have a procedure!!

The Department for Transport
The Department for Transport is the government department that controls all the workings of the goods vehicle operator through the various agencies under their remit.

  The Transport Office
Every Goods Vehicle Operator should make themselves aware of the contents of this website. It allows direct links to The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) website, which regulates and enforces compliance of Goods Vehicle Operators on behalf of the Traffic Commissioners.

Also links to: The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), the Driver Standards Agency (DSA).  We believe that the Traffic Commissioners will shortly have their own website available. As soon as it is we will be the first to promote it. Truck UK is an ardent supporter of the Traffic Commissioners and the work they do. However, something that is sadly missing from the world wide web is clear and concise advise that has been provided through the Traffic Commissioners, rather than MPs and government agencies that are 'hog tied' by protocol and 'procedures'..

  The Highways Agency
The Highways Agency (HA) is responsible for operating, maintaining and improving the strategic road network, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Transport. This comprises 9,380 km/5,863 miles of motorways and trunk roads in England, on which over 170 billion vehicle/km journeys are made each year.

UK Truck Shows - Event Development Limited

Organisers Russ Harman and Neil English have been a regular presence on the Truck Show circuit for many years and the events they now put on under the Event Developments / UK Truck Show banner at Oswestry and Santa Pod have become the truckers favourites.  The Shows In 2008 and 2009 were probably the best we've been to and Truck UK were proud to sponsor the 'Best New Truck'  trophy class. If anyone visiting this website is wondering which truck show to attend next year we would strongly recommend the UK Truck Show 2010.

Stamford Web Design

Truck UK can highly recommend  Stamford Web Design  as a website design and adminstration company that can provide state of the art answers to all your website production and design questions. The owner of this company, Andy Simpson, is helpful, approachable and probably the most useful contact that anyone wanting a commercial website could ever add to their address book.
